Out-of-province treatment centres
-

-
Choose Again
An attitudinal healing centre in Cost Rica might seem an extreme option, but B.C. parents in fear of their children's lives—and asking themselves "What is it costing me to not have my child in treatment?"— have looked into Choose Again.
-
Portage
Portage, which operates the long-term youth treatment centre in Keremeos, is a non-profit organization that has been dedicated to the social rehabilitation of substance abusers since 1973. The Keremeos centre serves families in the Vancouver Coastal and Fraser health regions. (FGTA policy supports offering long-term treatment on Vancouver Island and other regions as well, but no plans are yet underway for publicly supported facilities elsewhere.)
Portage also offers services and programs in the Montréal and Québec City regions, in Ontario, and in Atlantic Canada.
The organization's aim is to return serious substance abusers to mainstream society as drug-free, crime-free and productive citizens through comprehensive, responsive and cost-effective interventions based on the therapeutic community approach.
